After establishment, the firm operated from premises on the second floor of Nature House, Tom Mboya Street up to November 1980. The firm then moved its operations to 4th Floor of City Hall Annex, Muindi Mbingu Street, from where it operated until April 1991, when it moved to the present location on the 7th Floor of Bruce House, Standard Street, Nairobi. Due to growth and other considerations, the issues of location and ownership of own premises have surfaced in various discussions among the partners.
At its inception MG&Co. had branches in two upcountry locations: Nyahururu and Kiambu. In order to improve the quality of delivery of services to its clients, it closed those branches and centralized its out-of-Nairobi operations in one branch office located at Barclays Bank Building, off Kenyatta Road, Nyeri. This has continued to be the case and now the firm planning on how to effectively and efficiently manage diversification in the years ahead. It is clear that diversification is a growth strategy in need of implementation. This raises the issue of financing, human resources, location of offices and other related issues.
The founding Partners have currently ceased to play an active role in the firm, leaving behind a strong “traditional firm” legacy. currently has seven partners and a youthful but experienced team of bright and very talented associates and legal assistants. This legal team is supported by a well qualified and multi-disciplinary management and administration team to render support services. MG&Co. utilizes and continuously updates its state of the art information and communications technology (ICT) customized to suit the needs of legal practice and business, to ensure that our standards of customer service delivery standards are internationally bench-marked at all times. The firm has a good revenue base but its expected revenue projection shows that revenues can be enhanced further by up to 30% under the present operating circumstances. The firm hopes that a proper implementation of the targets outlined in its strategic plan will help improve its bottom line substantially.
